RACING AT COTSWOLD MODEL CAR CLUB

We encourage everyone to race, and our club has a diverse age (and skill!) range.
Drivers can get competitive but we try to make sure everyone is treated fairly and gets a good race.

Depending on entries, there are often two or three groups of each class which allows everyone to race with others their ability in the finals.

Race format on Club Days
The track opens from 8am to electric cars (Open Practice) Gas cars can access the track from 9am.

Members will have the airfield entry code. Non members will need to obtain the airfield gate code to enter, this can be done by messaging the club on Facebook. Please observe the airfield entry protocol without fail.

Booking in will commence from 9-9.30am, please pre book online using the form here.
Racing starts at 10am, and  we will look to run 4 rounds of 5 minute qualification with 2 finals.

Gas cars will have 1 x 10 minute final.

Once racing is complete the track is open to all competitors for additional track time. The last one out must ensure all is locked up as normal, non members must be accompanied by a member – a a club member must be the last to vacate the facility for security reasons.

Rules to observe when racing at a Club Meeting

• If you race then you must marshall the race after your
• Generators should be placed on the far side of the track, near the woods

We may be able to allow entry on the day but pre-booking is preferred allowing for the heats to be organised the day before, and helps racing to begin on time.

• Club members pay £10
• Non members pay £20

13.5T ‘Boosted’ Touring Cars
Open Modified Touring Cars
1:10 I.C. (200mm Touring Cars & 220mm GT)

Other classes of 1:10 scale vehicles, 1:8 scale vehicles and Bikes may be catered for if there are a minimum of 5 racers in that class, i.e. there are enough drivers to marshall the next heat, and if the timing of the day allows for an extra heat. If you wish to race another class to what is advertised, please contact the committee to give a ‘heads up’ to the organisers. 
Unfortunately we do not run Large Scale classes (1:5 scale) at our club meetings.
